FIXING LITTLE SCRATCHES IN YOUR PAINT
Little scratches and scrapes are impossible to avoid when owning a car. To keep the exterior looking like new, you can touch up the small imperfections that are the result of a runaway shopping cart or a careless driver by filling them with matching touch-up paint.
You can match your vehicle’s exact color using the factory code for your vehicle’s make and year. If the scratch is light, prepare the area by cleaning it thoroughly, then create a surface the paint will adhere to by roughing the area slightly with fine-grit sandpaper. Rinse the area, dry it, then apply the touch-up paint to thoroughly cover the area.
If the scratch is deep enough to affect the texture of the area you’re about to fix, you’ll want to add some primer to improve the surface. You can then apply the touch-up paint just as you would for a light scratch. You can wax the area to finish so that it’s protected.
