Long one of the most popular Chevrolet models, the Chevy Equinox gets a 2025 update that significantly enhances it. Wayne Thomas Chevrolet explores what’s new and why an already-popular SUV will surely be one of the most sought-after in the market.
A Bold New Design
The 2025 Chevy Equinox rides on an all-new chassis that is slightly longer and has more ground clearance than before. This means the Equinox will first have more passenger and cargo space and a more aggressive look with its boxy upper body and corners, upright grilles, and a wider track that suits the rest of the Chevrolet model range.
An Improved Powertrain
The 2025 Chevy Equinox powertrain combines old and new features. It retains the 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine, which produces a respectable 175 horsepower. However, the 2024 model’s six-speed automatic gearbox is swapped out for a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) in the front-wheel drive versions and an eight-speed automatic transmission when the SUV is equipped with optional all-wheel drive.
An Enhanced Interior
The 2025 Chevy Equinox cabin improves what was already a well-appointed and comfortable space. The digital instrument cluster is updated, and the outgoing model’s eight-inch infotainment display is upgraded to 11.3 inches. Among the newer model’s options is the Super Cruise™ semi-autonomous driving system, which works on a network of roads and highways spanning hundreds of thousands of miles.
